Wooden wall lights: size, finish and fitting

Primrose Light Wood wall light beside a linen headboard in a styled interior

Wooden wall lights vary in how much wood they show, the shape of the shade and the space they need. Lansdowne Plain combines a wood backplate with a black metal dome. Primrose pairs wood with a travertine-style finish and a rotatable head.

Both designs require a wired electrical connection. Choose the position and finish before arranging the fitting.

Wood, metal and stone-style finishes

Two different looks.

Choose Lansdowne Plain for a black dome and visible wood backplate. Choose Primrose for a lighter material combination or a head you can turn. Check the selected colour on the product page before adding it to your basket.

Compare the size and finish.

Lansdowne Plain and Primrose
Design Materials Listed dimensions Light and adjustment
Lansdowne Plain Wood backplate and black metal dome. 15 cm long × 19 cm wide × 22 cm high. 3000 K warm white; E26 bulb base.
Primrose Wood, travertine-style stone and metal. Light Wood and Walnut options. Listed diameter: 18 cm. Check the complete fitting. Warm white; rotatable light head.

Dimensions and material descriptions follow the product listings. Primrose’s 18 cm listed diameter does not describe every clearance needed around the fitting. Swipe the table to see every column on a phone.

Match the wood to the room.

Start with the largest wood surface nearby: a headboard, bedside table or hallway console. A similar light or dark tone can bring the pieces together without needing an exact grain match.

Lansdowne’s black dome adds contrast against a pale wall. Primrose’s Light Wood option suits a lighter combination of wood and stone-style finishes. Use the product photographs to compare the selected colour with your furniture.

Measure beyond the shade.

Mark the full space available beside the furniture. Check the backplate, projection and room to move the head, as well as the shade diameter.

For a bedside, choose a height you can reach comfortably from the bed. For a hallway, check the fitting against doors and the walking route. Confirm the electrical connection and wall fixing with your installer before fitting.

Before you choose.

Are these wooden wall lights battery operated?

No. Lansdowne Plain and Primrose require a wired connection. For a rechargeable option, browse the battery wall-light collection.

Is the whole fitting made from wood?

No. Lansdowne combines a wood backplate with metal parts. Primrose combines wood, metal and a travertine-style finish. The material mix is part of each design.

Is Primrose confirmed as natural travertine?

The current material specification says travertine-style stone. Choose it for that listed finish; the product name alone does not confirm natural travertine.
